Militant hideout busted, jawan injured in encounter

Jammu, Aug 11 (UNI) A security force jawan was injured in an encounter with militants in Sangot Nallah in border district of poonch, official sources said here today.

Sources said a search operation was conducted by security forces in village Sangot Nallah in Poonch, when militants opened indiscriminate fire on them, which was returned. In the ensuing gun battle, a jawan was seriously injured.

In another incident, the army, J&K police and the Border security forces (BSF) today conducted a joint search operation in Basantgarh of Udahmpur district.

Security forces also busted a militant hideout during the search operation at Seol Nallah. Two binoculars, Improved Explosive Devices (IEDs) and other items were recovered from the hideout.
