New Delhi, Aug 11: Larsen&Toubro (L&T) Ltd today said it is likely to normalise operations at the Hazira Works soon, with the receding of the floodwaters.

Due to heavy rains in the catchment areas of the Tapti river and the release of a large amount of water from Ukai dam into the river, Surat city and its adjoining areas were inundated.

As a result, employees were unable to reach the company's Hazira Works and operations at the Works were forced to be suspended from the afternoon of August 7, 2006.

With the receding of the floodwaters, normal operations at the Works are expected to commence soon, a company statement said.
