Low pressure brings fresh flood threat to battered AP
Hyderabad, Aug 11 (UNI) With the low pressure area over north Bay of Bengal off north Orissa-West Bengal becoming well-marked today, threat of fresh floods loomed large over Andhra Pradesh which was slowly limping back to normalcy.
''The system may concentrate into a depression and bring widespread rains to north coastal Andhra Pradesh during next two to three days'', Hyderabad Meteorological Centre Director M Satya Kumar told UNI.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall was likely at a few places over the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam, where the recent floods had left a trail of destruction, he said adding that light to moderate rain or thundershowers were likely at a few places over Telangana.
Forecasting isolated rain or thundershowers over Rayalaseema, he said rain or thundershowers would likely occur in parts of the state capital.
Telangana would experience increased rainfall activity with scattered heavy to very heavy falls in the next two days, he added.
Southwest monsoon became active over Coastal Andhra Pradesh as rainfall occurred at many places over Telangana and isolated over Rayalaseema.
