Cosmetic manufacturing unit burnt in HP

Nahan, Aug 11 (UNI) Two people received serious burn injures after a devastating fire engulfed a cosmetic manufacturing unit in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh this afternoon, police sources said.

The incident occurred in a factory situated near Trilokpur on the Kala Amb Road, 20 km from here, The sources said the seriously injured people had been referred to the PGI at Chandigarh, adding that the losses were yet to be assessed, while the owner put the loss at Rs 60 lakh.

The fire officials fought with the flames for over two hours before bringing it under control, the sources said, adding that the entire factory was reduced to ashes in a few moments due to large quantity of inflammable material stacked in the premises.

A case has been registered and investigations were on to ascertain the cause of the fire, the sources added.
