Cop arrested for accepting bribe from his car driver

Nizamabad, Andhra Pradesh, Aug 11 (UNI) Sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today trapped a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) while taking bribe from his own driver.

According to the ACB sources, Williams, who had taken charge as DSP here recently, had been indulging in corruption. Despite warnings from his superiors, he did not mend his ways.

The DSP's driver Srinivas, who was involved in a family problem and was likely to face criminal charges, sought the help of his officer. Williams reportedly demanded Rs 20,000 for doing him the favour.

The shocked driver bargained for Rs 15,000 and informed the ACB.

The ACB laid a trap and caught the police officer red-handed. He was arrested and would be produced in an ACB court.
