College-goers protest BHU fee hike in mock funeral procession

Varanasi, Aug 11 (UNI) Students from several local colleges protested the five-fold fee hike in the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) by carrying out a mock funeral procession of the Vice Chancellor of the central varsity.

Led by student leaders from Harischandra College yesterday, the college-goers took out the procession from Godowlia to Harischandra Ghat -- the riverine cremation ground.

Demanding the rollback of fee hike announced by BHU last month, besides the revival of students union in the central varsity, the protestors threatened a movement, if their demands were not met.
