CM reviews flood situation with Collectors

Hyderabad, Aug 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today reviewed the flood situation and also relief and rehabilitation works being carried out in the flood affected districts.

In a teleconference held today with district collectors of 16 flood affected districts, Dr Reddy sought to know the phase of relief works, the steps being taken to control outbreak and spread of epidemics, dehydration, water borne diseases and house damages, among others.

Addressing the Collectors, the Chief Minister wanted to speed up relief and rehabilitation work on war-footing and provide succour to the needy. He wanted to ensure prevention of outbreak of epidemics in all the affected places on priority basis and ensure that no one is left uncovered in providing relief.

He also directed them to assess the damages of houses, identify safer places for providing permanent houses especially to those living in low-lying areas. He wanted to convince the affected first and provide houses as desired by them only so that some of them may not be willing to leave the places of their dwelling.
