Brilliant Trophy begins Aug 12

Hyderabad, Aug 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Senior State Chess Championship for Brilliant Trophy and U-19 Boys and Girls selections for nationals will be held from August 12 to 15 at Brilliant Grammer School at Dilsukhnagar near here.

Top four players will be selected for the senior national chess event to be held at Ahmedabad from September 1 to 10 and top four boys and girls would be selected for U-19 nationals to be held at New Delhi from August 23 to 30.

AICF has shifted the National Women-B Chess Championship from Jalandhar to Hyderabad and the event is likely to be held some time in September or October, this year.

Meanwhile, announcing the tournament the State Chess Association President K A Shiva Prasad and Secreatary K Kanna Reddy said 'medal winners of recent Asian Youth Chess championship held at Tehran from June 23 to July 1, U-10 girls gold medalist Ch Sahajasri, bronze medalist B Prathyusha, U-10 boys gold medallist G V Sai Krishna and U-12 boys gold medallist CH Mehar Chenna Reddy would be felicitated.

They also announced the list of state players who were selected for the World Youth Chess Championship to be held at Georgia from October 18 to 29.

They are GV Sai Krishna (U-10 boys), G Sai Nirupama, B.Prathyusha (U-12 girls), Ch Sahajasri (U-12 girls), Vishwanatha Prasad, VAV Rajesh, Ch Mehar Chenna Reddy, L.Sriharsha (U-12 boys), Y Sandeep (U-14 boys), I Ramya Krishna (U-16 girls) and Dasari Sai Srinivas (U-16 boys).
