Brahmputra mail stopped following 'bomb scare'
Patna, Aug 11: Dibrugarh-bound 4056 Brahmputra Mail was being thoroughly searched at Patna railway station following informations that a bag filled with explosives was thrown out of the train at Mughalsarai railway station today.
Railway Inspector General Ajay Verma said here that a bag packed with explossives was thrown out at Mughalsarai railway station from the train which was on way to Tinsukiya from New Delhi.
''A search was made in the train first at Buxar railway station.
Now it is being thoroughly screened at Patna railway station,'' he told reporters.
The canine squad and anti-bomb squad had been pressed into service. The train has been evacuated and the belongings of passengers were being searched. All the passengers would also be scrutinised for security reasons, he said.
Meanwhile, an alert has been sounded at Patna railway junction.
