BJP wants amnesty for violators

New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) The BJP today reiterated that the demolition drive and sealing operation in the national capital could only be stopped if the Government decided to give one time amnesty to the violators as was done by Finance Minister P Chidambaram against black money.

Reacting to the Supreme Court order partially staying the operation of the controversial Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Act, 2006, BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said the Party had warned the Government that the Act would fall before judicial scrutiny.

He said the BJP was against any construction on the government land but it wanted that small shops running in residential colonies should not be sealed.
