BJP demands CBI probe in 7/11 serial train blasts
Mumbai, Aug 11 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde today demanded that the serial bomb blasts case should be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as even after the completion of one month the Mumbai police could not track the real culprits behind the seven explosions, in which about 192 people were killed.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Munde said the police could not make any major headway in the investigation of 7/11 serial blasts.
State BJP president Nitin Gadkari, who was also present at the news conference, said the state government should be given the assistance of Rs 5000 crore to tackle the flood situation.
Mr Munde, the former deputy chief minister, said the state has suffered losses to the tune of Rs 10,000 crore due to heavy floods, affecting 29 districts out of 35 in the state.
Former joint police commissioner Y C Pawar, who joined the party today, also endorsed Mr Munde's views, saying that the blast probe should be handed over to the CBI as the city police were losing its control for the last several years.
