24-year-old jumps off 5th floor due to dowry harassment

New Delhi, Aug 11 (UNI) A 24-year-old died after jumping from the 5th floor flat in Malviya Nagar area of South Delhi, allegedly due to dowry harassment.

Her husband Sanjiv, an engineer at a private firm, his brother Ravi and their father Ved Prakash were arrested today, according to sources.

Poonam Abrol, who hailed from Kathua in J&K, died almost immediately after she jumped from the 5th floor flat at Khirki Extension in Malviya Nagar on July 9 at about 2300 hrs.

She was married in 2000 and had no issues.

Her mother, who was in Capital, alleged that she was regularly harassed for bringing a car as dowry.
