Underconstruction power projects will be completed fast: Shinde
Sidhi, MP, Aug 9 (UNI) Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde today said the country would be among select frontline nations in terms of power production after work on the underconstruction is over.
''The work on various power projects in the country was progressing on a fast pace,'' Mr Shinde said, while inaugurating the 500 MW power plant unit of the Vindhyanchal Super Thermal Power Project under the National Thermal Power Corporation.
The 500 MW unit would increase the production capacity of the power house to 2,760 MW, while another 500 MW unit was under construction.
Union Power Secretary R B Shahi and NTPC Chairman T Shankar Lingam were present on the occasion.
