Three SIMI activists held in Nagpur

Nagpur, Aug 9 (UNI) The police have arrested three activists of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) here on suspicion of having links with terrorist organisations.

Shakeel Warsi Abdul Naseer (32), Shakir Ahmed Naseer (27) and Mohammed Rehan Khan Ataullah Khan (21) were arrested from different locations in the city late on Tuesday evening, Police Sub-Inspector Syed Iqbal said.

The police have also seized compact discs (CDs) and 'inflammatory' literature from their possession. The three are suspected to have links with terrorist outfits involved in the July 11 serial bomb blasts in local trains in Mumbai and the June 1 abortive bid on the headquarters of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Nagpur.

The three have been booked under Sections 10 and 13 of the Unlawful Activists (Prevention) Act. They will be produced before a Magistrate later today.
