Three get life imprisonment in dowry death case

Patna, Aug 09 (UNI) Additional district and sessions judge of Patna Ram Prawash Sharma today awarded rigorous life imprisonment to three persons in a dowry death case.

Judge Mr Sharma found Sahdev Mistri (father in law), Shivjee Sharma (Brother in law) and Lakshmi Devi (mother in law) of the victim in the case, guilty of killing Anju Devi for dowry.

According to the charges, the convicts committed the crime by strangulating Anju Devi in 1997.

Before adopting the ultimate action of committing murder,the convicts perpetrated physical torture on the victim to press fulfilment of their dowry demand.

Husband of the victim Sanjay Sharma was also an accused in the case who died during the trial.
