Palakkad, Kerala, Aug 9: Welcoming the Kerala Government's decision to ban the sales and production of Pepsi Cola and Coca Cola in the state, Plachimada Solidarity Committee convenor R Ajayan today said they would continue the ongoing struggle against the Coca Cola company.
''We will continue our struggle till all issues raised by us are solved''. He told UNI on August 27, a joint meeting of the Plachimada Coca Cola Virudha Samithi and the Plachimada Solidarity Committee would chalk out the future course of action following the ban, he added.
The Plachimada agitation was stared in 2002.
Mr Ajayan said they had succeeded only in achieving a part of their demand and the other demands like compensation to the victims and action against the water pollution and ground water exploitation were unsolved.
Commending the government for their decision to ban the soft drinks he said, this is the best example of success of a mass struggle.
