Sidhu hails Ganguly's selection
Patiala, Aug 9 (UNI) Hailing the selectors' decision to include Sourav Ganguly in the list of 30 probables for the Champions Trophy, cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu today said the former Team India skipper is deserving of his place in the side.
Talking to UNI, the former opener and now a Member of Parliament, Sidhu said the selection committee did the right thing by including Ganguly and veteran leg-spinner Anil Kumble along with stylish bat VVS Laxman in the team.
''If I were a selector even I would have taken Ganguly, Laxman and Kumble for the tri-series. You can't ignore a bowler in this universe like Anil Kumble,'' he said.
Sidhu was all praise for coach Greg Chappell and sais the Aussie has been successful in revolutionising and experimenting with the Indian team in his own style.
''India has performed well in recent times, and the end justifies the means,'' he said.
