Prasanta, Bengal Santosh Trophy coach

Kolkata, Aug 9 (UNI) Former player Prasanta Banerjee has been appointed coach of the Bengal Santosh Trophy Team here today.

IFA Secretary Subrata Dutta tiold UNI, '' Prasanta Banerjee has been appointed coach and Tanumoy Bose has been appointed goalkeeper coach for Santosh Trophy team. '' Prasanta Banerjee told UNI, '' This is a welcome decision. I am very happy. I will see the games of some premier division teams before I select my team. '' ''I don't want to make a big list. I will call some 20 to 25 players for a three week camp and from there the team will be selected. I want players who will give their best for the side, '' he said.

''I will surely look at some of the players from the big three clubs and if they are willing to release them I will take them. But if the senior players from Bengal join the squad I will have to make sure they give 100 per cent, '' he added.

Mr Dutta further said Raghu Nandi and Kajal Chatterjee are being appointed as joint coaches for the U-21 Bengal team, while Debashis Mukherjee will be the goalkeeper coach.

Krishnendu Dey will be the coach and Diswajit Das Gk-coach for the U-19 side, Sujit Chakroborty Coach and Nasir Ahmed Gk-Coach for the U-16 side and Chinmoy Chatterjee coach, Susanta Guha Asst Coach and Pratap Ghosh GK-coach for the U-13 side.
