Heavy downpour lash city in evening

Kolkata, Aug 9 (UNI) Heavy rains lashed the city this evening causing massive waterlogging at several places.

Sizzling in the sultry weather since last few days, people in Kolkata seemed to enjoy the showers, however, the only pain in the neck was the waterlogging which had been quite severe this season.

The Met department had forecast that rain clouds would lash more rains in the next few hours.

The city did not experience significant rains during the last three days thereby raising the mercury level slightly, the weathermen said.

The temperature hovered around 36 degree Celsius with a minimum of 27 degree Celsius.

The relative humidity slumped to 92 from yesterday's 99 per cent.
