Ganguly finally back in reckoning
Bangalore, Aug 9 (UNI) The lean season at Northamptonshire notwithstanding, deposed team India captain Sourav Ganguly is back in the reckoning with the Selection Committee today picking him as one of the 30 probables for the ICC Champions Trophy to be held in India during October-November.
Ganguly would finally be with his team mates exactly 11 months after he played the final one-day international against New Zealand in September last year.
The most successful Indian Captain had fallen out of favour with the selectors, besides having a public spat with team coach Greg Chappell, whose e-mail to the BCCI criticising Ganguly was widely publicised, kicking up a controversy.
Ganguly vowed to make a cameback and played in the last season of the Ranji Trophy matches, after a long time. But his stint with county club Northamptonshire proved to be a nightmare as he failed to come up with even one memorable performance, either with the bat or ball.
