Dalmiya hails Sourav selection

Kolkata, Aug 9 (UNI) CAB president Jagmohan Dalmiya today hailed Sourav Ganguly's selection and called it a very good news.

Reacting after Ganguly's selection into the 33-member probable camp for Champions' Trophy, he said, '' I am very happy that he has been selected. He is a brilliant cricketer and cant be left out for long. '' '' It was only expected. This is a welcome news for all of us, '' he said.

CAB Secretary Saradindu Pal said, '' It's better late than never.

It was something that was to happen and that it has happened now is a very welcome thing. '' It might be recalled that Ganguly and shot an e-mail blaming the current regime at CAB for cutting short players' careers and responsible for his wilderness from international cricket. However, Dalmiya, his mentor and backer over the years, called Sourav a 'Bachcha' and refused to pay much heed to the statement.
