Water level in Godavari river receding
Rajahmundry, Aug 8 (UNI) The rising water level in river Godavari has started receding, according to Central Water Commission (CWC) here.
CWC officials told UNI that the water level at Bhadrachalam had receded to an extent of seven ft in the last 24 hours. The level at Bhadrachalam, which stood at 65.70 ft at 0800 hrs yesterday, had come down to 58 ft today and it would further recede.
Similarly, water level at Dowleswaram barrage had started receding, according to Godavari Head Works Control Room officials.
The water level recorded 22.80 ft yesterday, stood at 21.80 ft this morning, they said adding that the discharge has been reduced to two lakh cusecs.
