Chandigarh, Aug 8 (UNI) Students of the Swami Vivekanand Institute of Engineering and Technology (SVIET), Banur near here today poured the contents of soft drinks on roads and broke the bottles in protest against CSE report revelations about the high level of pesticides content in it.

The protesting students under the umbrella of an NGO--S4S (SVIET for Society) demanded that soft drinks should be banned in the whole country especially in the educational institutions.

The students raised the slogan, ''Let's drink poison tonight instead of cold drinks.'' After the Centre of Science and Environment (CSE) claimed that soft drinks are unsafe for public health, the S4S planned to raise their voice against these soft drinks by creating awareness among the people.
