New Delhi, Aug 8 (UNI) Anticipating a huge rush of commuters tomorrow on the occasion of 'Raksha Bandhan', Delhi Metro has decided to increase frequency of its train service for the day.

Peak hour frequency of four to five minutes -- four minutes on line 1 and 2 and five on line 3 -- would be maintained from 0800 hrs to 2030 hrs, Delhi Metro Rail Corp Spokesperson Anuj Dayal told UNI.

Generally, peak hour frequency was maintained during office hours, from 0800 hrs to 1200 hrs and again from 1630 hrs to 2030 hrs. Rest of the day trains ran every eight to ten minutes.

Last year, ridership had increased by almost a lakh (45 per cent) on Rakhi day and DMRC expects more passengers this time with line 3 having been added to its network.
