Microland secures USD 11 million funding

Bangalore, Aug 8 (UNI) Leading IT infrastructure management and technical support services provider, Microland Limited, has secured a funding of US Dollars 11 million from Cargill Ventures, Intel Capital, Trident Capital and JAFCO.

The funds would enable Microland to invest in new infrastructure and accelerate its business growth in the Remote Infrastructure Outsourcing market, the company said in a release here today.

Company Founder, Chairman and Managing Director Pradeep Kar said ''Microland pioneered Remote Infrastructure Management in India when we set up our first Global Operations Centre in 1999 to manage the IT Infrastructure assets of a global corporation.'' The funding would enable the company to augment investments in infrastructure, capabilities and business acquisitions to capitalise on the large opportunity in the US Dollar 110 billion global Remote Infrastructure Management Services space, he added.

Microland currently had a client base of more than 50 global customers. With an expanded workforce of over 1,600 professionals, all encompassing services that relate to monitoring, managing and enhancing the performance of a client's IT infrastructure, Microland was well positioned to lead Remote Infrastructure Management Services, the third wave of IT outsourcing to India, the release said.
