Gold, silver open on weak global advice

Mumbai, Aug 8 (UNI) Values of spot silver and gold opened softer on thin local demand in view of discouraging advice from global markets, according to traders at the bullion market today.

Following were today's opening spot rates : Silver (per kg) .999 fineness grade : Rs 18,950, Gold (per 10 gm): Gold 99.5 purity standard mint: : Rs 9,775, Gold 99.9 purity variety : Rs 9,820.
