Gold, silver close on weak global advice

Mumbai, Aug 8 (UNI) Values of gold and silver today suffered a major setback on poor demand in view of the bearish advice from global markets, according to traders at the Bombay Bullion Association.

Trading in bullion market will remain officially closed tomorrow on account of Raksha Bandhan, traders added.

Following were the closing rates of spot silver and gold: Silver (per kg) .999 fineness grade: Rs 18,925 (19,140).

Gold (per 10 gm): Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 9,745 (9,800), Gold 99.9 purity pure gold : Rs 9,795 (9,850).
