Gokarna records 19 cm rain
Bangalore, Aug 8 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hrs today.
Heavy rainfal warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours.
Monsoon was active over coastal Karnataka and weak over south interior Karnataka.
Rainfall occurred at a few places over north interior Karnataka and at isolated places over south interior Karnataka.
Gokarna recorded very heavy rainfall of 19 cm.
Heavy rainfall amounts (CM): Kadra 12; Karwar, Kumta 11 each; Ankola, Siddapura 9 each; Kundapur, Bhatkal, Sirsi, Londa 8 each; Gerusoppa, Honavar, Yellapura, Jagalbet 7 each.
Other chief rainfall amounts (CM): Shirali, Joida, Agumbe 6 each; Nilkund 5; Siddapura 4 each; Haliyal, Mundagod, Uttara Kannada, Khanapur, Nippani, Hukkeri, Kalghatgi, Linganamakki 3 each; Karkal, Talaguppa, Thirthhalli, Hosanagar, Belgaum, Chikodi, Sankeshwar, Shiggaon 2 each.
Forecast valid until Thursday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over coastal Karnataka; at a few places over north interior Karnataka and at isolated places over south interior Karnataka.
Farmers weather bulletin: Moderate to heavy rain likely to occur at most places over Uttara Kannada district. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at most places over Belgaum, Dharwad and Haveri districts at many places over Shimoga districts at a few places over Udupi, Bellary and Davanagere districts and at isolated places over Dakshina Kannada district. Mainly dry weather may prevail over remaining districts of north interior Karnataka and south interior Karnataka.
Outlook for subsequent two days: Decrease in rainfall over coastal Karnataka and north interior Karnataka.
