Ahmedabad, Aug 8 (UNI) The Gujarat Forest Department today served a legal notice to Bollywood actor Aamir Khan in the Chinkara deer case, seeking clarification from the actor within seven days on the receipt of the notice.

The actor was sent a legal notice for the alleged violation of the Wildlife Act for filming the Chinkara without seeking forest department's permission during the shooting of 'Lagaan' eight years ago. He and his team had camped in Kutch for few months, said a source in the forest department.

The legal notice was served on the actor seeking to know how his production team went filming the Chinkara without forest department's permission. The notice has also raised a question whether Aamir was aware that shooting of the chinkara for commercial purposes was a violation of the Act, he added.
