Fifth schedule implementation urged for tribals

Ranchi, Aug 8 (UNI) Advocating Proper Implementation of Tribal Rights in Jharkhand, a two-day seminar on National Tribal policy was concluded here today.

Speakers in the seminar stressed the need of implementing the recommendation in the fifth schedule in the constitution.

Advocating the Natural Rights of Adivasis, Tribal leader Ratan Tirkey said they should be given their right of Water, Jungle and Land adding fifth schedule should also be included in the national tribal policy.

Educationist Ram Dayal Munda said all the MoUs signed by the Jharkhand government would not succeed if tribal policy was not formulated properly.

The seminar was attended by the traditional heads of tribal society.
