Two farmers commit suicide in Akola

Akola, Aug 7 (UNI) Two farmers, including a woman, commited suicide here yesterday, police today said.

In the first incident, a middle-aged woman farmer identified as Ms Manda Dilip Deotale from Dhavalsari village in Nandgaon Khandeshwar taluka of Amravati district in Central Vidarbha allegedly committed suicide yesterday by jumping into a well, after her standing crops of jowar and soyabeans were washed in the rains lashing here since the past several days. A case of accident has been registered and investigations are on, police said.

In another, incident a 65-year-old farmer Piraji Kisan Gaikwad of Dhilli village in Washim district, allegedly ended his life yesterday by consuming poison, police added.
