Two deaths reported in Kalyan; 500 evacuated

Mumbai, Aug 7 (UNI) The situation is grim in Kalyan suburb in Thane district adjoining Mumbai following incessant rainfall and flooding.

According to official sources, two persons have reportedly died in Kalyan area. However, the reasons for their death is not known yet.

Three villages in Kalayan are under water. Meanwhile, 500 people have been evacuated and moved to safer places at Kalyan.

About 150 cuseces of water is being released from Barvi dam in Thane district. Two roads - Palghar-Manur and Mokhada-Trimbak - have been blocked due to incessant rainfall. Bhatsa dam, also in Thane district is also overflowing.
