Two blast suspects remanded to police custody
Mumbai, Aug 7: A Metropolitan court here today remanded two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) suspects in the July 11 serial train blasts case, booked by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Mumbai police, to police custody till August 21 for allegedly carrying out a blast at Jogeshwari station.
The ATS, which is investigating the serial train blasts in Mumbai, has boooked two LeT activists -- Sohail Sheikh and Jameel Sheikh -- for their alleged involvement in the Jogeshwari blast case. The duo was arrested on July 25 in Matunga blast case.
The accused were produced, amid tight security arrangements, before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate A M Garde who remanded them to police custody.
The ATS had busted a suspected LeT sleeper cell, which might have played a vital role in the serial train blasts. The ATS sleuths also believe that the arrested duo would help them to reach other module members.
