Speaker writes to MPs for cooperation in House
New Delhi, Aug 7: Expressing his displeasure over disruptions and repeated adjournments, Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee has appealed to Members of Parliament belonging to various parties to cooperate for the smooth running of the business in the House.
In a letter sent to them yesterday, he sought their cooperation and also suggestions and guidance ''as to how we can discharge our important duties in a manner, which will meet with the expectations of the people of this country''.
He said the current sessions so far had 10 days' sittings but the House could not function for three days for reasons ''which are known to the Hon'ble members''.
He assured the members that he was trying his best to accommodate all the issues under the rules which they wanted to raise in the House.
''I sincerely appeal to all of you to please ponder how the proceedings of the House should be carried on,'' he added.
