RSS calls for debate on Centre's policy on religions
Vijayawada, Aug 7 (UNI) The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has called for an open debate on Centre's policy of 'Sarvapantha Samabhava' (equal protection to all religions).
Addressing a convention on 'Hindutva--Misconceptions and facts,' here last night, RSS National Executive Member Ram Madhav, in a reference to a particular religion, said it was 'expansionist' and 'encouraged conversions.' ''We don't need to disrespect them. But we need to understand the theology,'' he averred.
The RSS leader took strong exception to the political interpretation of 'Sarvapantha Samabhava' and advocated open discussions.
He said extremism was a universal phenomenon now and the Centre should stop treating it as a mere 'law and order problem.' UNI CS MSJ VP1121
