Physically challenged demand 3 per cent reservation

Pondicherry, Aug 7 (UNI) Members of the Federation for Handicapped Associations today took out a procession and held a demonstration infront of the legislative assembly to press for their demands.

According to a release, their demands included proper implementation of three per cent reservation for the physically challenged in government jobs provision of loans for self- employment without surety and provision of assistance to the physically challenged without any recommendations.

The procession culminated in the Bharathi park in front of the Assembly.

Meanwhile, 65 employees of the horticulture wing of the agriculture department were arrested when they took out a procession demanding regularisation of their service.
