Pathak report tabled in Parliament
New Delhi, Aug 7: The government today tabled in the Lok Sabha the Justice R S Pathak Inquiry Authority report on the oil-for-food scam and the related Action Taken Report (ATR).
The report was tabled by Finance Minister P Chidambaram amid slogan shouting by BJP, Shiv Sena and JD(U) MPs, demanding an apology from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the reported leak of Authority's report immediately after it was submitted to Dr Singh last week.
The House was adjourned at 1205 hrs till 1400 hrs as pandemonium prevailed in the House with the agitated members standing in the well and shouting slogans.
The Report and the ATR were also tabled in the Rajya Sabha today. Minister of State for Finance Pawan Kumar Bansal laid the two documents as soon as the House reassembled at 1200 hrs after it had been adjourned on the issue of Pathak Authority report leakage and Natwar Singh's privilege motion against the government. Earlier, in the morning, the Union Cabinet had approved the ATR.
