Pathak Report given for action to various authorities

New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) The Action Taken Report on the Justice R S Pathak Inquiry Authority says that the Committee's Report has been forwarded for action to three authorities-- the Enforcement Directorate, CBDT and CBEC.

"The government has decided to forward the Report in its entirety to the following authorities to be treated as information and for such action as may appear to them warranted under law," the ATR tabled in Parliament today says.

These are-- The Directorate of Enforcement, The Central Board of Direct Taxes(CBDT) and The Central Board of Excise and Customs(CBEC).

The Authority has given a clean chit to the Congress in the oil-for-food scam, but held former External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh responsible for implicating the ruling party in the payoff charge.

It has, however, ruled that there was no evidence to show that Mr Natwar Singh derived any financial benefit.
