One Huji militant killed in Kishtwar

Jammu, Aug 7 (UNI) Security forces gunned down a hardcore militant of Pakistan-based outfit, Harkat-Ul-Jahadi-Islam (HUJI) at Kashwan in Kishtwar police station of Doda district late last night, police sources today said.

Doda police said they started the search operation after they were tipped off about the militants' presence in Kashwan. During the encounter with militants, one ultra was killed.

The slain militant was later identified as Mohammad Ameed alias Sameer. An AK-47 rifle, a AK magazine and five live AK rounds were recovered from him.

The search operation was still on when reports last came in, as some more militants are supposedly present in the area, the sources added.
