NTPC, NHPC, SAIL and COAL India observe 'protest day'
New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) More than 46,000 public sector employees observed 'protest day' today demanded merger of 50 per cent DA with basic pay among other things.
NTPC, NHPC, SAIL and COAL India officials wore black badges at work, as part of their second phase of 'protest' action plan, to build pressure on the government to fulfill their long-standing demands, a statement said quoting NTPC Executives' Federation of India Secretary General Rakesh Pandey.
They were also demanding financial autonomy to PSUs in respect of deciding pay, perks and allowances for the employees.
They also sought removal of monetary sealing on payment of gratuity.
Representatives of each of the PSUs had staged demonstration at Jantar Mantar on Augist 1 and 2 to press for their demands.
