NDA to meet on UPA stance towards Oppn
New Delhi, Aug 7: Cut up over the UPA's alleged attempt to bulldoze the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, the NDA partners are meeting here this evening to protest against the stance of the ruling Alliance.
The manner in which the government business had been pushed through in Lok Sabha today, ignoring the Opposition members' protests in the well of the House was ''unprecedented and objectionable'', BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said.
The Opposition continued its protests for more than 15 minutes while the treasury benches and the Government sailed through hurriedly all the listed business, including important bills, he said.
Mr Malhotra said it was well on record that the Opposition always helped the government to clear all the listed business during the session. But the way the government hurried with the business was objectionable and unparliamentary.
He said that as per the parliamentary procedure that proceedings were not held amid din, when the House reassembled at 1145 hours the opposition members went to the well of the House to protest against the Pathak Authority leak, but the government insisted on pushing through the business till the Pathak Authority Report and the ATR was tabled in the House at the end of the Question Hour.
