Moily committee should be dissolved: Udit Raj
New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) The Indian Justice Party today said the recommendations of the Oversight Committee on reservation, headed by Mr Veerapa Moily, must be rejected as it favoured implementation of OBC quotas in phases.
''Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh is clear that there is no paucity of funds for implementation of 27 per cent OBC reservation in one go and the UPA alliance partners-- CPI, CPM and DMK-- also support that... then what is the problem,'' Indian Justice Party chief Udit Raj said.
He said when resources are available then it should not be difficult to create infrastructure and necessary facilities.
''Reservation should be implemented from this session only,'' he added.
Mr Udit said August 7, the day when then Prime Minister V P Singh announced to implement the Mandal Commission recommendations in 1990, will be celebrated as the reservation day from this year onwards.
Mr V P Singh was felicitated at the Reservation day celebrations which were also attended by Mr Raj Babbar.
