Lion cub born in Mysore zoo
Mysore, Aug 7 (UNI) The century-old Mysore zoo has a new inmate, with the birth of a lion cub in the zoo recently.
Zoo Executive Director Ranga Rao said, in a release here today, that the cub was born to lioness Manini and lion Darshan. Both the mother and cub were in good health.
For eight-year-old Manini, brought here from Nandankanan zoo in 2002 under the zoo exchange programme, this is the third delivery.
Though her first litter - a single cub - died two months after its birth in 2003, the second litter in April 2004 -- three cubs -- were now housed in the Mysore zoo, he said.
