KYKL against calling bandhs in State
Imphal, Aug 7: The Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), a militant organisation, has opposed bandh/strike in Manipur.
It also appealed to others to desist from calling strike saying such bandh only creats problem for poor people and affect life as a whole.
The KYKL clarified that two teachers, office bearers of the All Manipur Government Aided College Teachers' Association, were beaten up for calling bandh recently. For every petty matter, some group of people calls bandh in the state, which was not proper.
However, "It is okay if it is a public issue or a major crisis" it added.
Meanwhile, Joint Action Committee of Organisation of Retired Armed Police, Fire Service and Police Personnel and Manipur and United Retired Organisation have jointly called 24-hour bandh on August 23 midnight demanding reintroduction of "died in harness" scheme in Manipur.
