Flood water in Yanam receding:CM

Pondicherry, Aug 7 (UNI) The flood water in the Yanam Region of the Union Territory was receding and the situation under control, Chief Minister N Rangasamy told the Assembly today.

Replying to a special mention tabled by CPI Member R Viswanathan during the Zero Hour, Mr Rangasamy said the Yanam region, affected as River Godavari, was in spate.

''Tourism Minister Malladi Krishna Rao, who hails from Yanam, is camping there and supervising safety measures being undertaken.

Train services have been restored,'' he said.
