Dry weather continues to prevail in UP
Lucknow, Aug 7 (UNI) Even as dry weather continues to haunt all parts of Uttar Pradesh, Ghagra river was flowing 2 cm below the danger mark at Elgin Bridge.
Meanwhile, the turbulent Saryu river in Ayodhya was flowing 14 cm below the red mark.
Balrampur recorded one cm rainfall, the weatherman said.
Light to medium rainfall is likely at few places in the next 24 hrs, while heavy rainfall might occur in the next 48 hrs, the met department said.
Central Water Commission (CWC) said all prominent rivers including Ganga, Yamuna, Ken, Gomti, Sharda, Ghagra, Rapti and Gandak were flowing below the danger mark.
A report from Balrampur said if land erosion by the Rapti continues, thousands of villages would be inundated.
