CPI flays govt for 'ban' on Arab TV channels
New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) Communist Party of India (CPI) today slammed the government for reportedly banning Arab television channels covering the West Asia conflict.
CPI Central Secretariat said the government has, however, not banned those channels ''which support Israel's aggression and horrendous acts of bombings'' in Lebanon.
''The official version is that India enjoys close and cordial relations with Israel and the US more than any Arab governments,'' a party statement said.
Condemning the ''unfriendly move'' against India's Arab neighbours, the CPI said the ban should be withrawn immediately.
''The truth about Israeli crimes committed in Lebanon must be seen by our people,'' it said.
