Cabinet meets to discuss Pathak report

New Delhi, Aug 7: The Union cabinet is meeting this morning to finalise the Action Taken Report (ATR) on the Justice R S Pathak Inquiry authority report in the oil-for-food scam.

The report along with the ATR will be tabled in Parliament after the cabinet clears them. Mr Justice Pathak had submitted his report to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday evening, the contents of which were allegedly leaked to the media. The opposition and left parties have demanded an investigation into the alleged leakage.

Former external affairs minister K Natwar Singh and other opposition parties have served notice against the prime minister for breach of privilege over the incident.
