BJP sacks party chief in Chhattisgarh
Raipur, Aug 7 (UNI) Stung by criticism of ministers in the Raman Singh government in Chhattisgarh, BJP today sacked senior tribal leader Shiv Pratap Singh as state BJP President.
''BJP President Rajnath Singh has removed Mr Singh from the post of state party president. Another tribal leader Vishnu Dev Sai, a Lok Sabha member representing Raigarh, is being appointed as the president'', state BJP sources confirmed today.
The sources said the party high command has taken a serious view of Mr Shiv Pratap Singh's ''outbursts'' during an interview with a television channel, demanding removal of ''corrupt and inefficient'' ministers in the Raman Singh government and action against corrupt bureaucrats saying that they were tarnishing the image of the BJP government.
