Advocates agitate against corruption
Siwan, Aug 7 (UNI) Hundreds of practicing lawyers today took out a procession against the District and Sessions Judge, demanding that he be transferred for patronising a ''corrupt'' clerk of the local court.
The advocates took out the rally in the town and raised slogans against the judge demanding action to check corruption in the local court. Following demands of illegal money by a clerk of the court from a lawyer to enable him to see the records of three days back, the advocates had raised the matter before the district and sessions judge and demanded dismissal of the clerk.
But, instead of taking any stringent action against the concerned clerk, he was only transferred following issuance of show cause notice against him.
The agitating advocates alleged that the district and sessions judge was ''incapable'' of taking action against the clerk and observed that the local clerks were the root cause of corruption in the court. The advocates were abstaining from the usual judicial work and have decided to stay away from work till the judge was transferred.
